CJC-1295
Also known as: Modified GRF (1-29); with DAC and without DAC forms
A lab-made analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone designed to last longer in the body, studied for its effect on growth hormone and IGF-1 levels.
Overview
CJC-1295 is a modified version of the first 29 amino acids of growth hormone-releasing hormone, the signal the brain uses to tell the pituitary gland to release growth hormone. The changes make it more stable. The "DAC" version adds a chemical group that lets it bind to blood proteins and last for days. The "no DAC" version, often called modified GRF (1-29), acts for a much shorter time.
What the research has looked at
A small human study in healthy adults found that the DAC form raised growth hormone and IGF-1 levels for an extended period. Research has focused on these hormone measurements rather than on health outcomes.
What we do not know
- Raising hormone levels is not the same as proven benefit, and no large trials have tested clinical outcomes.
- Long-term effects of sustained growth hormone stimulation are not established.
- It is frequently sold in blends, and those blends have not been studied as combinations.
Regulatory context
CJC-1295 is not an approved medicine, and it is prohibited in sport.
